Sixth Form Bulletin

30th January 2023

Year 12 Bulletin

Morning all,

Hope you’ve all had a good weekend. Please pay attention to the opportunities coming up - it’s important to engage with these so that you are able to make informed decisions about your future.

Please note that school is open to 6th Form students on Wednesday; it will be a non-uniform day and I will be expecting you all to attend the lessons that run on Wednesday, but I’m happy for you to leave site when you have no lessons on that day. If you want to stay in school when you have no face-to-face lessons that’s fine and the 6th Form Centre will be available as usual. The usual lunch arrangements will apply and you will be able to buy food on site as normal.

Student Volunteers for Forget-me-not Chorus

Last year two 6th Form students volunteered to support the ‘Forget-me-not Chorus’ community sessions for people living with and alongside dementia in Penarth. Their experience was very positive and formed part of their UCAS application as well as being something I included as part of my reference. It’s probably most useful for those thinking of studying a healthcare related degree, something care-related or Psychology-related.

Their Cardiff South & Vale sessions run on Thursday evenings, 6:30pm-8:30pm at Elfed Avenue Church, Penarth CF64 3LX. If you want to find out more use the link here and please come and see me if you’re interested.
