St Cyres School’s annual production will be Ben Croker’s Cinderella. Instead of performing a classic west end production, the school has opted to perform it’s first pantomime since moving to the new school build.
A combination of staff and students work extremely hard to produce, direct, publicise and market the production in such a short space of time. A lot of responsibility is shared amongst several students who work closely alongside members of staff as part of their BTEC Performing Arts and Musical Technology courses.
Cinderella, (played by Sydney Richards) struggles in her day to day life to satisfy the high expectations her wicked step mother (Lauren Jagger) and step sisters (Phoebe Stacy and Jade Guy). Cinderella’s fortune change however when she meets her fairy godmother (Rebekah West). Prince Charming (Lewis Gardner) is struggling to find the love of his life and disguises himself as his man servant Dandini (Ellis Hopkins) in order to discover how he is really perceived by his public. Along the way there are many entertaining moments whether it is with Buttons (Davey Sheppard) or the comedy double act of Snitch and Snatch (Harri Herniman and Daniel Blackmore). Throughout the performance audience participation is required and encouraged by the cast who are extremely excited to see large crowds of adults, teenagers and children be entertained through acting, singing and dancing.
This performance promises to entertain and wow its audiences with magical effects, entertaining musical numbers and outstanding individual performances. Tickets are now on sale at St Cyres School.
