Even though we are only 4 weeks into the new academic year, this week has been dominated by preparing for our new intake for Year 7 in September 2023!  As many of you will know, the deadline for applications for secondary school places in the Vale of Glamorgan for next year is 1st November 2022 so Miss Hirani and I have visited Year 6 classes in St Andrews and Fairfield this week to talk to pupils about transition to St Cyres School.  It was also lovely to take along 2 pupils in our new Year 7 who were former pupils of those Primary schools so that the Year 6 pupils could ask any questions about moving to St Cyres School.

Next week, we will be visiting our 3 remaining feeder Primary Schools.

In news somewhat related to this, I am pleased to say that we will be having an in-person Open Evening once again this year and this will be held at 6pm-8pm on Thursday 13th October 2022.  This is always a very successful event and anyone interested in a place at St Cyres School in the next few years is very welcome to attend.  We also consider this to be somewhat of a community event, so any members of the local community are very welcome to attend.  More information will follow on our website and on Twitter.
